"Poetry and Hums aren't things which you get, they're things which get you. And all you can do is go where they can find you."
A.A. Milne, The House at Pooh Corner

Whenever I carry my camera around, I try to find the picture that no one has taken - the door that everyone walks past without a second glance, the view looking straight up - and see things from a different perspective.

I am depressed by the number of great photographs I've missed out of inattention or habit. I am excited by the possibility of finding a new photograph in an old place, a scene that's been there all along, waiting on someone to find it.

Sometimes, though, when I'm lucky, the picture gets me. Those are the shots that make a whole roll of film worthwhile.
